Cascading Pedigree charts

Cascading Pedigree charts are a universal problem with Windows based genealogy software. Cascading Pedigree charts are usually numbered as

Person 1 on this chart is Person 8 on Chart 1

instead of using a proper Ahnetafel numbering system. Then, using the standard Ahnetafel match formulas, all other persons on the primary and secondary charts could be identified and printed to the cascading Pedigree charts. Genbox offers accurate numbered cascading Pedigree charts.

Genbox offers proper continuation of Pedigree charts through several generations and several charts. To the right is a partial sample of Chart 2 of a series of Pedigree charts for my maternal grandmother. Note the first person on this Chart 2 is numbered 8. Henry Huyck. This same individual is number 8 on Chart 1.

To print such a cascading series of Pedigree charts using Genbox, select your starting individual and:

  1. Click Reports > Pedigree > Basic to display the Pedigree Reports Options window.
  2. Select the Style tab.
  3. From the System drop-down list box, select Ahnentafel.
  4. Click Make Report.

Genbox creates a series of cascading Pedigree charts using the Ahnentafel numbering system to show continuity between charts. Also, note that 8. Henry Huyck is shown with a source, number 24. You can include sources on charts in Genbox.
