Legacy Family Tree

Legacy Family Tree split into two editions a couple of years ago. The Standard edition is available without cost. The Deluxe edition, with all the application's special features requires an unlock code for which there is a fee. The additional features found in the Deluxe edition entice the user into purchasing the unlock code.

A few of the Legacy Family Tree Deluxe edition features include the following:

bullet

Picture Center -- View graphics and individuals in the same window, assigning a graphic to one or more individual

bullet

Bearing and Distance Calculator -- Use the latitude and longitude from different events to plot the distance and direction your ancestors traveled

bullet

Geo Location Database -- Identifies locations world-wide, with each governmental level of a location, along with latitude and longitude

bullet

US County Verifier -- Automatic check of validity of a county name

bullet

Descendant View Tab -- A tab off the main window that identifies the descendents of the selected individual

bullet

Chronology View Tab -- Includes all events and family within the selected the life of the selected individual

bullet

Index Tab -- Displays a list of all individuals in a Legacy file and can be set for alternate names.

bullet

Research Guidance Tab -- Analyzes a Legacy file for possible research suggestions, creating a To Do list and much more.

Legacy Family Tree does not support multiple individuals from a single event (for example, identifying all individuals recorded on a census in a single event), yet does offer a swift method of recording the same event, source, and citation information for more than one individual. From an event dialog box, you copy a census record, to include the source and citation information, than paste that event to all other individuals recorded in the specific census record.

Millennia offers two Legacy lists, one a newsletter and the other an online user e-mail list, while a Legacy e-mail list is also available through Rootsweb. Those lists are as follows:
