CommentsLONGENECKER. Daniel Londonderry Twp., Dauphin Co., PA (now Lebanon Co.) b. abt 1844-1865, d. abt. 1811 Two of his children were Samuel and Catherine. Samuel b. 1789 d. 1852, married Anna Shank b. 1890 d. 1847 and moved with his sister, Catherine and husband, to Ohio in 1820. Samuel settled in Darke Co., OH in 1841. I have most of Samuel's descendants, but I cannot find the link between Daniel and Ulrich Sr. I suspect a close connection with John, a son of Ulrich Sr., because Samuel was an Old Order German Brethren. He could also be related to Peter or Christian the preacher. Any info would be appreciated. Keith E. Longenecker, kel@micron.net

He was listed in the 1790 Census of Washington Co, Maryland as living with Christian longnecker, but I don't know if Christian was his father, uncle, brother,or cousin. Andrew married Elizabeth Rinehart(1780,Maryland- 1870,Lasalle Co, Ill) They had 9 children. I'm a direct descendant of their son, Hezekiah, Andrew is also listed in the 1800 Census in Maryland, and the 1810/20 censuses of Bourbon Co, Kentucky. My problem is that I've been unable to connect either Andrew or his wife, Elizabeth to any parent's. I would appreciate any lead you could give me! Sandra Teresa Jensen xeresa@cox.net

CommentsWilliam Longnecker b abt 1804. Found in census 1860 Port Lavaca, TX. (born in OHIO-father Joseph or Jacob) Historians connected to the CSS Hunley (the confederate submarine that sank the Housatonic)are now saying that William Longnecker was one of the original owners/builders/whatevers. They say he was one of the original members of the Singer Secret Service Submarine Corps in Civil War. (Confederate) Does anyone have any information on the lineage of William Longnecker (56yo in 1860) who was born in Ohio (abt 1804)and later went down to Texas (Port Lavaca?) Sure would be interesting to hook him up to a rock-solid parentage from Pennsylvania-Maryland. (The Hunley was raised from Charleston, SC harbor last year with much fanfare) Reply to smalpany@juno.com Thank you Stephen M. Longnecker

CommentsMy Name is Emily Longnecker from York PA. I just wanted to say this board is so fascinating. My Uncle...Steve Longnecker has researched the Longnecker Family History...what a read!! I moved to the Lancaster, York area 2 years ago to work as a reporter for WGAL-TV. I had no idea I was in a sense coming home!!! Over the years, bosses have wanted me to change my last name for television and I've been tempted. I must admit..."Longnecker" can sound strange to tv viewers. Now...I'm more proud of my last name than ever.
CommentsI have purchased a tile for placement on the Veterans Memorial Museum Wall of Honor (www.vetransmuseum.org) for Henry Clay Longnecker, Colonel, 9th Penn Vol., Civil War and veteran of the Mexian War of 1847. He also served as a Member of Congress for Penn.

CommentsWE do have a little information on a Christian Whisler. We are not sure if this is the same Christian that you are wanting to know about. Our family name is Whisler and our ancestor was a Jacob & Magdalena Whisler from Germany and their ninth child was a Christian Whisler. What we dont know is if Christian had a son named Christian who married a Susan Holdeman/Halderman and had a son named Samuel who married a Elizabeth Pike and had a son named William Lancelot Whisler who married a Maria Sophronia Mercer and made the Oklahoma Land Run of 1889. If you can help us make the connection between the two Christian's then we might be able to help you make the connection between more of the Whisler family. Thank You. My name is Micheal Whisler and you may reach me at jbjwhisler@hotmail.com or my aunt at Shykitty@aol.com
