LONGENECKER. Daniel

Londonderry Twp., Dauphin Co., PA (now Lebanon Co.) b. abt 1844-1865, d. abt. 1811 Two of his children were Samuel and Catherine. Samuel b. 1789 d. 1852, married Anna Shank b. 1890 d. 1847 and moved with his sister, Catherine and husband, to Ohio in 1820. Samuel settled in Darke Co., OH in 1841. I have most of Samuel's descendants, but I cannot find the link between Daniel and Ulrich Sr. I suspect a close connection with John, a son of Ulrich Sr., because Samuel was an Old Order German Brethren. He could also be related to Peter or Christian the preacher. Any info would be appreciated.

She was my grandmother. She was one of five children. Her mother passed away and Henry married a Barbara Koenigsecker. Henry Longenecker was one of seven children of Jacob Longenecker and Mary Fiandt. Barbara Longenecker married Daniel Peter Garber, possibly in 1887 or 1888. Hi Longnecker family! I was wondering if anyone could help me. This is a stab in the dark, really, but I'm searching for an old friend by the name of John Longnecker. We lost touch about three years ago. His family was living in the Greensburg, Pa area, and then he moved to Omaha about 2 1/2 -3 yrs ago. I believe that he no longer resides there. John is between 25-27 years old. If anyone has any information at all about this boy, please please contact me. I miss him and wonder what might have been.

Longnecker,Andrew He was born about 1768-d. Oct 6,1832,Preble Co, Ohio. He was listed in the 1790 Census of Washington Co, Maryland as living with Christian longnecker, but I don't know if Christian was his father, uncle, brother,or cousin. Andrew married Elizabeth Rinehart(1780,Maryland- 1870,Lasalle Co, Ill) They had 9 children. I'm a direct descendant of their son, Hezekiah, Andrew is also listed in the 1800 Census in Maryland, and the 1810/20 censuses of Bourbon Co, Kentucky. My problem is that I've been unable to connect either Andrew or his wife, Elizabeth to any parent's. Our branch of the family is fairly certain that we are from the Swiss branch of the Longnecker's, but I've been unable to go back further than Andrew. Can you help me locate his parent's? I would appreciate any lead you could give me! Sandra Teresa Jensen

Longnecker, John P. (46th Pa. Vols. Co. G.) Hellooooo..... I am inquiring into the relationship of anyone in this forum to my Civil War Veteran John P. Longnecker (1842-1916) He's buried in the Civil War Vets section of Oak Hill Cemetery, Bradford, Pa. He hailed from Richburg, NY before moving to Bradford but before that possibly Conemaugh, Pa. or the Lancaster area. He was married to Elizabeth Longnecker (don't know when). One of his offspring was Emmett Longnecker of Bradford, Pa (d-1939). He is buried in the Wagner Cemetery, Bradford, Pa. Emmett had several sibs: Jim Longnecker (Olean, NY) George Longnecker (moved to Washington State) Ira Longnecker (1st Coronet, Barnum & Bailey), Oscar Longnecker (daughter Nettie Longnecker). George had daughter Bertha Ann Longnecker Wilcox of Washington State) and had a string of gas stations on Tacoma Highway. Emmett also had my Dad, Lloyd J. Longnecker of Bradford, Pa. His sisters are Verna Morris Longnecker of Jamestown, NY and Norma Longnecker of California (Salinas-Rosedale) Lloyd married Kathreyn Rich of Bradford, Pa. in 1943. The children are Robert D. Longnecker (1946) of Bradford, Pa. and Stephen M. Longnecker (1949) (myself) formerly of Bradford, Pa. but now of West Seneca, NY. Grandchildren of LLoyd Longnecker are David P. Longnecker, Emily Longnecker (York, Pa television anchor) and Andrew Longnecker of Erie, Pa. (age 17) Any help out there with a Longnecker migration up into Allegheny County, NY (Richburg/Bolivar/Olean) area for John Longnecker 46th Pa. Vols. Co. G.? William Longnecker b abt 1804. Found in census 1860 Port Lavaca, TX. (born in OHIO-father Joseph or Jacob) Historians connected to the CSS Hunley (the confederate submarine that sank the Housatonic)are now saying that William Longnecker was one of the original owners/builders/whatevers. They say he was one of the original members of the Singer Secret Service Submarine Corps in Civil War. (Confederate) Does anyone have any information on the lineage of William Longnecker (56yo in 1860) who was born in Ohio (abt 1804)and later went down to Texas (Port Lavaca?) Sure would be interesting to hook him up to a rock-solid parentage from Pennsylvania-Maryland. (The Hunley was raised from Charleston, SC harbor last year with much fanfare) Reply to Thank you Stephen M. Longnecker

I came across an old query 5/01 by the address seems to be obsolete. Damon, Mary Ann Johnston was born in Leitersburg, Washington Co. Maryland in 1840. Both HER parents were born in ? PENNSYLVANIA. Her father was John Johnston, her mother was ? LONGNECKER. Mary Ann Johnston married Joseph T. Wright son of John Wright and Eliza Jane Lindsey (of Todd County Va.) Mary Ann and Josepth T. were married in Peaksville, Clark County Missouri in 1866. She died in 1925 in Nebraska, He (Joseph T. died in Crawford, Kansas a few years later)I have been unable to hook up to my LONGNECKER ancestors due to limited info. (I have also been unable to find more on the Johnstons) I have only been able to find Mary Ann's family once on the 1840 Census for Leiterburg, Washington Co. Maryland, the year she was born. They have been elusive!

My Name is Emily Longnecker from York PA. I just wanted to say this board is so fascinating. My Uncle...Steve Longnecker has researched the Longnecker Family History...what a read!! I moved to the Lancaster, York area 2 years ago to work as a reporter for WGAL-TV. I had no idea I was in a sense coming home!!! Over the years, bosses have wanted me to change my last name for television and I've been tempted. I must admit..."Longnecker" can sound strange to tv viewers. Now...I'm more proud of my last name than ever.

I am looking for any information that will tie my LONGNECKER lineage back further than Elizabeth Longnecker who married Jared (aka Jaret) Noble Keith in Pendleton County, Kentucky. They emigrated to Decatur County, Indiana and remained until death. I believe Elizabeth to be a daughter of Elizabeth Rinehart & Andrew Longnecker where Andrew died in Preble County, Ohio. Is there anyone who has further information on this line and would be willing to share. Andrew & wife Elizabeth would be my 4th great grandparents. I descend through Jared & Elizabeth (Longnecker) Keith's son James Harvey Keith & wife Susannah Vantreese, then their daughter Eliza Ann who married John Waughtel. Thank you..

He was the son of John Ludwig Snyder who came from Germany in 1758 and fought throughout the entire Revolutionary War. I am looking for information on Lewis and his children. I understand that Lewis had five sons but the information is sketchy. I know that three sons died in a Confederate prison camp in Richmond Va and did not return. One other son returned from the Civil War but died later of injuries received. The fifth son did not go to war and he is my Grandfathers father.

I would like info on John G. Longenecker...I know that the cousins have a shin-dig once a year in Kansas...Abilene, Kansas..My Mothers Name is Mary Hamilton Ritter..She passed Oct. 9, 2003..She was 86...Her Aunts and Uncles included John and Alda (longenecker) Zook, Irving and Della Longenecker,Albert and Riley(longenecker) Beyer,George and Annie(longenecker) Decker, Ira and Emma(longenecker) Hamilton,Reuben and Katy(Longenecker)Larson, Elizabeth Longenecker, Ezra and Mary(longenecker) King,John and Ruth Longenecker,Levi Longenecker..Always interested in knowing.

Hello, I am Wathetta Elizabeth, Granddaughter of Louise Elizabeth Longnecker-Northcutt. My mother is Barbara Alice Northcutt-Mathews. If you need any more information about our part of the family let me know. I am looking for information concerning a young family that worked for AG and Louise Northcutt when they owned a farm when my mother was a little girl. The young mother had a baby that died. My mother promised that when she had a daughter she would name her after the mother or baby, Wathetta. I am the only Wathetta I have ever founded. Does anyone remember the young family? My uncle Presley does not remember them. Thank you, Wathetta

I am looking for my Schneider/Snyder family who came from the bavaria area of germany. His name was Joseph Schneider and after emmigrating changed his last name to Snyder. He settled in Clearfield Co. Pennsylvania in about 1852. He died there in 1910. I have been trying to find his parents for many years. Even though he says he was born in France, the rest of the census says he was from Germany. If anyone out there even THINKS they might be able to help, I would sure appreciate it.

Thank You,

Karen Snyder-Faust
