TS Marriage in Illinois

Apparently the Department of Defense is still attempting to intimidate retired transgendered into hiding and not attempting to change their DEERS records. A member of the TSVets on Yahoo groups has a letter similar in content to what I received through my Congressional representative's office.

During the conversation among group members, one member posted the following:

"In a ruling by the state of Illinois Attorney General in regards to my spouse (female) and I in regards to our insurance which is funded by the state, it was determined that if the person were man and woman when the marriage took place it was a legal marriage irregardless of whether the spouse changed their gender after the marriage took place."

This ruling is identical to what Allison and I were told in California. This ruling will be identical in all states, despite all attempts from the Department of Defense to intimidate.
